Recently, I was asked why I started Be Well.
There have been many moments in my life that could be considered ‘pivot points’. Moments where my circumstances, what I did, what happened to me, and most importantly – what I chose to do going forward, determined the path that lay before me. I did not start out as a nonprofit leader, but rather I started out as a wide-eyed idealist set on healing the world. The path from there to here has had many challenges, many joys and many learnings that have made me who I am today. My personal life also had twists and turns, joys and sorrows – a marriage to a man I adored, which ultimately ended in divorce, two sons that are my heart, and now, a second marriage in which I feel truly seen and supported.
One of the key learnings in my life is that often, my greatest fears have gently pointed me to my greatest growth, whether I accepted them upon first discovery or cycled back to them after trying to avoid them time and time again. Ultimately, my successes have come from facing with honesty and courage the truth that I am not only deserving of support, acceptance and healing, but it is essential to my wellbeing and the impact that I wish to have on the world.
Each of us has a passion-fueled purpose within us. We know when we are in alignment with it. Expression of that true self, that true essence and that greater purpose is essential to our wellbeing. Confidence in that purpose and the courage to stand tall even as the winds whip around us, is integral to our impact. My life and my contribution to all life thrives when I remain in alignment with these truths. This is true for so many women that I have known and support in my life today. This is true for you too.
In seeking to live in alignment with who I am and what I have to offer, I have learned a great deal that can help others on this journey. What I have learned has value and it must be shared. I also know in my core that all women have their best wisdom within them and yet, we often need the support, acceptance and healing to keep it accessible and lived.
